Morningside residences

In December of 1984, Miami City Commission designated the first historic home district of Miami: Morningside. Morningside, originally “Bay Shore”, had rich history as one of the oldest community in the city, but also was visited by Pope John Paul II when he visited the United States, being the guest of the then home of Archbishop Edward McCarthy on NE 53rd Street in Morningside. Morningside is located in the upper eastside of Miami on the  east of Biscayne Boulevard from NE 50th  Terrace to NE 62 Street, just at north of the adjacent luxury community of Bay Point.
This is a gated 24-hours security community, with tropical lush landscaping and around 500 residences of diverse architectural styles that started in 1920 and fell on hard times along with most of Miami's other inner neighborhoods in the 60s and 70s. Morningside Park is the largest of the City of Miami Park and Recreations, has basketball court, tennis court, baseball/softball field, Pool Park, sailing camp, kayak rentals, boat slips, fishing areas, barbeque and playground. The community works actively to retain Morningside historic charm and unity in the neighbor with events like: After School Programs, Summer Camp, Halloween Park of fear, Woodstock Hippie Easter, and Summer Luau.
Morningside is one of the most desirable luxury communities in Miami. Its location is less than a mile from the 55th street station, and near restaurants, shops, nightlife, supermarkets, Design District, Midtown Mall, MIA International Airport, South Beach, schools, and UM Medical Center. Morningside is the City's best remaining example of a boom-era suburb.
